Credit Card Rankings

Unlike other credit card sites that inundate you with a flood of incomprehensible interest rates, annual fees, welcome points, points for groceries, and different points for gas, etc. WhatBank takes a different approach.

WhatBank combed thorough every card’s fine print and built a computer model that calculates the value of each card based on your monthly spending. Together, these models form the core of WhatBank’s Credit Card Engine that powers WhatBank’s Credit Card Finder.

With this unique tool, WhatBank brings objectivity to the confusing world of credit cards.

Despite what other sites may say, the simple fact is that there is no one best card for everyone. The best card for you depends on your unique spending, how quickly this spending accumulates cash back or points and the value of these points.

However, there are cards that are much better than other cards over a wide range of spending patterns. This is what these credit card ranking tables show you.

Using WhatBank’s credit card comparison tool we’ve run thousands (over 86,000 actually) of monthly spending scenarios varying the spending in many categories. Then we ranked the cards and highlighted the top 10%.

This way it’s easy to compare a cash back card to a statement credit card to an Air Miles card to a PC Points card. All together in the same table!

The rankings are based on having the card for 2 years — One year to get the sign up bonuses and another year of regular use. There are two groups tables. One for monthly spending of less than $1,500 and one for spending greater than $1,500.

The rankings are averages of thousands of spending possibilities. For a more precise answer you can access the same sophisticated engines here and enter your own monthly spending to get an unbiased answer as to the best card for your unique spending.

Bias
WhatBank isn’t here to sell you anything. In addition to often providing outdated information, many sites are paid by the credit card issuer if you click from their site and sign up for a credit card. Is that the best product for you, or was the site influenced in what they showed you or didn’t show you? You don’t know! WhatBank will never adopt a referral fee business model because it distorts objectivity no matter who you are.
